My wife and I took it upon ourselves to design, create, and build all materials needed for our wedding. We decided to get married on the family farm. We drew inspiration from the land, the old barn, and the sunflower field as design elements for our wedding theme.
I drew the wedding invitations by hand and had it transferred to a photopolymer plate. I took it upon myself to ink and letterpress each invite with a homemade press that I fabricated.
The designs on the wedding invitations influenced the design of all the other materials for the wedding. The wedding trellis was inspired by the border of the invites. We decided to use barn beams for the structure. I then designed and fabricated the metal brackets to illustrate the sunflowers in the field that stood behind the trellis.
All the seating, decorations, and the bar were designed using recycled farm materials.
